Hoopfest Mania

Hoopfest-----Spokane, Washington

We just wrapped up a very fun and completly exhausting Hoopfest weekend.
For those of you from outside of Spokane, Hoopfest is a huge 3 on 3 baskeball outdoor basketball tournament.  There are over 28,000 athletes and thousands of fans.  It literally takes over the downtown streets of Spokane.  It is like a holiday in our household...the countdown to next years Hoopfest starts the day is ends.  So...365 more days until next Hoopfest.
We camped with all of Curt's teamates and their wonderful families for 2 nights and then moved our camp to the Mulder house for a weekend of basketball games.  It is so fun to reconnect each year and catch up on the happenings from the past year.  The kids have become great friends, which is such a blessing.  The other night at dinner the 8 kids sat at the table and talked forever.  It was so cute.

Here is Jordan's team....Spokane Spartans
Jordan has played with these guys for the past three years.
They played great through the rain on Saturday and the scorching heat on Sunday.
They lost a heartbreaking game to take 2nd place.
They were disappointed, but we were so proud of them.

Here is Curt's team....Short but Really Slow
His teammates are friends from the PLU football team.
He plays with Travis Ness, Scott Estes and Kirk Estes.
We are so thankful that they are willing to travel from Arkansas, Las Vegas and Tacoma to play each year.
The won the championship this year, which was awesome.
I think this is there 10th year as a team.

Here is Benjamina and Bradley's team...Spokane Storm.
This was their very first Hoopfest and they did awesome.
They played with Ryan and Christian.(little brothers of Jordan's teammates)
Curt was their coach and I was so proud of their great effort and heart.
They have many great Hoopfests in their future.

We are so blessed to have 3 AMAZING Fans who come to so many of the boys games.
Grandma Snowdon, Papa Bob and Uncle Dave.
We are so blessed by their love and support.

Kristen surprised the kids with a fun pinata at Riverside State Park.
The kids loved it...especially all the treats inside.

EMAL brothers!!

Silverwood...Roller Coaster Heaven!!

SILVERWOOD...Athol, Idaho

We had a great afternoon and evening at Silverwood Theme Park.  The boys earned a free Silverwood ticket from school for reading for 600 minutes. HOORAY!!  Rebecca and Matt also gave us 2 free tickets for our Anniversary...thanks!!  We only had one day all summer that we all could go...so rain or shine we were going.  Thankfully, it did not rain and the park was empty.  It was roller coaster heaven for the boys.  Curt just loves roller coasters, so he is so glad that the boys LOVE them too.  That is Curt with his hands up on the picture below...roller coaster heaven!!

The boys are finally all tall enough to ride AFTERSHOCK!  They have been waiting for years to ride.

We all loved the KRAZY CARS and the train ride.(with treats)

The countdown is on for Hoopfest weekend..only 7 more sleeps.
The boys are so excited to play and we cannot wait to see all our friends who come for the weekend.
I will try and take some pictures when I am racing between three courts and coaching the little boys.(haha)

Rainy Day Fun

Rainy Day Fun

I taught the boys to play the board game Clue today.
It was one of my favorite games as a child.
It was great to have a quiet day at home with the kids.
(But we hope the "Sun will come out tomorrow" for our barbeque)

Jordan's Birthday and Father's Day Fun at Riverside State Park

Riverside State Park---Spokane, WA
June 14-17th

We had a fun weekend celebrating Jordan's 11th birthday and Father's Day.
The weather was beautiful and we went on some awesome bike rides.

Jordan had a great TENT sleepover with his buddies.
It was super easy to clean up, just dump the tent out.
We all went on a fun bike ride on Saturday morning.

Our boys wanted to sleep in the tent on Saturday night.
They only lasted an hour until they decided the trailer
was much more comfortable and WARM!!

I love the mornings in the trailer, so quiet and peaceful!

The boys had a great time playing in the sprinklers at the
camprground on Sunday...it was a hot day.

Heading out for the Summer

Riverside State Park      Spokane, Washington

Summer is here!!   We have been trying out our new 5th wheel, while we are close enough to run home if we forget something.  It seems that after each trip we come home with a long list of stuff to add next time.  This weekend we will go to Riverside to celebrate the end of the school year and Jordan's birthday.  He and three friends are going to camp out in a tent outside the trailer.  I hope that they don't freeze.  After this weekend we will be home for about 1 1/2 weeks while the boys go to basketball and tennis camp.  Then we will meet all the Hoopfest families for a few nights camping before the big weekend.  Everyone in our family is playing...besides me, I am coaching the little boys.  I hope that you enjoy following our adventures throughout the summer.
